How do I find what my login and mail server is?
There are several easy ways to find out these details…

Work it out yourself...
If your e-mail address is joe@smith.com then here are some combinations that work about 70% of the time. Listed in order of greatest possibility.

Login name is joe mail server is pop.smith.com
Login name is joe mail server is mail.smith.com
Login name is joe mail server is pop3.smith.com
Login name is joe mail server is smith.com
Login name is joe@smith.com mail server is pop.smith.com
Login name is joe@smith.com mail server is mail.smith.com
Login name is joe@smith.com mail server is smith.com

Or find it out some other way...

At one stage you typed your mail server and login name into the computer at home or work wherever you normally check your mail. Maybe you use Eudora or MS Outlook or Netscape… have a quick look at the options or preferences (they maybe found under a menu tools or edit etc). The info that you'll need can be found there!

Read the documentation that your mail provider gave you when you first setup your e-mail account with them (if you haven't lost it already).

E-mail your postmaster and ask them. Their address will most likely be postmaster@yourdomain.com.

Visit your service provider's web site - 99.9% of the time the mail server can be found there. The name of your mail server is an essential part of collecting your mail.

General FAQ

Will Mail2Net work with my e-mail?
If you can access your mail with any email client software from home or at work then Mail2Net should be able to access your mail. Mail2Net access's your mail account the same way as any email client (MS Outlook, Eudora etc). However, Mail2Net will not be able to access your mail if your mail server is behind a firewall stopping external e-mail clients. (for example - a company local mail server that only allows mail to be accessed from within the building).

Do I have to be in the USA to use Mail2Net?
No - Both you and your mail server can be anywhere in the world and you should be able to use our Mail2Net service.

Where are your Webmail servers?
Webmail Server1 is in California and Webmail Server2 is in New York. - You don't really need to know where the servers are based as they all should work with any email server based anywhere in the world!

Why have three webmail servers?
Because we can! And to spread the work load. Also if you are having any trouble with a webmail server just logout and try another.

I am going overseas to some funny country can I use your service there?
Yes Our service should work in any country that you can get an internet connection in.

Do you keep any of my e-mail information?
No, We don't keep and have not even the facility to keep (or read) any mail received or sent through Mail2Net's system.

Can I retrieve a deleted message?
Not through the mail2net service. If you delete a message it is deleted directly from your mail server. Your only hope is if your mail provider takes copies of your mail. Mail2Net takes no responsibility for any loss of messages while using the mail2net service.

Do I have to sign up to use the free e-mail check service?
No sign up is required. We have tried to make it as easy, fast and as anonymous as possible.

Does the Mail2Net Service delete my mail?
Only if you select "delete" by the message in the message list. Otherwise your mail should be perfectly safe and will not be deleted. A great feature of the Mail2Net service is if somebody sends you a very big message that you don't want to download to your PC you can delete in manually via the message list. However, there are some (very very few) mail providers that could automaticly delete mail when you read mail from their server - As far as we know we have not come across one yet but we do know that it is possible.

Login Problem - I get to the login page where I enter my username, passwords and mail server but it does not work - it used to work and I'm typing in the same login and mail server as I always have. Why?
First double check your details. It's most likely your mail server (the nice people that host your mail) Maybe their server is down or maybe a problem with your account. Please talk to them first.

When I try to login I get an error
Make sure your browser accepts "cookies" and your privacy is set to "Low" or "Medium" (factory standard) otherwise you may not be able to login.

I have a pop (or pop3) server and an smtp server. Which is the mail server?
Another name for mail server is pop or pop3. (You don't need to know your smtp server to use Mail2Net).

Is webmail Free e-mail check really free?
Yes that's why it's called the free e-mail check service!

What do I get if I subscribe to your service?
We have a "Registered Service" - if you want to send or reply to messages using Mail2Net's Servers you need to register which involves just $9.95 for one years registration.

Why should I register?

To Reply or send mail through us you need to become a registered user.
Convenience - only need to click the "reply" or "compose" buttons. (Much faster and easier than starting up some other or even worse, another persons or companies mail software).
Professional - If you send or reply to mail through our server the mail comes from your address (or one of your choice) not some other address (something@cybercafexyzxyz.co.xyz or your works or home address)
Correct Reply address - As mentioned above the correct reply to address for people that you have sent mail to is very important. Let's say you are at a cyber café and send mail through their mail software. If the person that receives your e-mail and replies to it the chances are it will be sent to the cyber café's address or something similar to a black hole and if the e-mail is read it most likely wont be by you!
Security - If you use your works or some other companies e-mail software to send your outgoing messages it very easy for your message to be monitored and copies to be kept of your private e-mail message. Using Mail2Net, although not perfect it is far more difficult to monitor or record your outward and inward e-mails.
Priority mail service - Our Registered service receives a faster service than the free service
Three servers - two in USA and the other in the South Pacific
No advertising banners displayed on the pages after you have logged in.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
We Dont SPAM Your Privacy is very important to us. - We will not sell your e-mail address to any other party.
Any information accessed or sent through our servers is completely confidential. All services are supplied under our Terms of Service.

Registered User login questions

How to login
To use the full mail service click the "Registered User" link and type in the password we gave you when you registered.
The login system is very similar to our free webmail service once you have accessed the registered user login page. If you have a question please read our Login and General FAQ above before contacting us.

I just registered - but I can't send or reply to mail - Why?
You are probably logged into the free mail service. You need to login to the registered service on the main page.

My return address
when you repy or compose a new email our system tries to guess your "from" address and puts that in your return address box. If this is incorrect you need to overwrite the address box with your correct return address (this can be any address that belongs to you)

Keeping copies of outgoing messages
No we don't keep any copies. If you want to keep a copy, simply "CC" yourself!

Lost your password
Please complete our lost password form - At the moment we manually check your details so please use this as a last resort!

I have changed my address - do I need to tell you?
Subscription is by user not by email address. You can use any email address that belongs to you with the mail2net service
